Description of the flag

The flag of the MHP is same as the one which was used by the army of Ottoman Empire in early times. It is made of three white crescents on a red field. The flag was adopted in February 1969.

Use of the flag by football supporters

This flag of the MHP has often been seen used by football fans. Indeed, a variant of the official flag of the MHP (see above) was seen Monday 23 June in the Geoffroy-Guichard Stadium in Saint-Etienne (France), during the Turkey-Brazil (2-2) match of the Confederations' Cup.

On that flag, the size and placement of the crescents was different, the crescents being similar to the "regular" crescents seen on the Turkish flag. There was apparently only one MHP flag among the flood of Turkish flags.
